NEW HAVEN POLICE MAKE AN ARREST IN EAST ROCK ROBBERIES

(6/8/2007) NEW HAVEN- New Haven Police arrested a man today allegedly responsible for a number of robberies in the City’s East Rock neighborhood. Shortly after 9 a.m. today a woman in East Rock reported being held at gunpoint in the driveway to her home as she was unloading groceries. The woman managed to scare away the perpetrator sending him running away from the house.

Shortly after the woman called 911, patrol officers and officers from the robbery and burglary unit flooded the area and tracked down the man recovering a gun and other evidence at the scene. The suspect in custody may have been involved in several other robberies in the neighborhood and has so far been identified by two of his victims from two separate incidents. New Haven Police will continue an investigation into today’s attempted robbery and other crimes the man may have committed.
